It was a great day 2 in Petals class. Good morning! For most of us, it was our second day of school. We had a few friends who had their first day back at school yesterday. We continued making and designing sheets for our drawers. We added more dots and art materials on the big paper with Kai. On the other table, we had connecting blocks and we played with Pauline. At the back of the classroom, we had toy trains and toy dinosaurs. We actually just had toy trains at first but our teachers asked us if we’d like to add the dinosaurs so we said, “Oh yes!” We had a fun morning free play time. After that we all gathered together in the circle. After we sang our morning song, Sayaka introduced our new waiting lines which are made out of different shapes for going to the toilet and washing hands. She explained that the circles are for going to the toilet and the squares are for washing hands. “Ok! Let’s line up!” We stood in the line and got ready for snack time.

Our circle time started with the book, “Monsters Love Underpants” By Freedman and Ben Cort. Since we had a bit of a longer snack time (We really enjoyed our snack time! haha) Sayaka briefly read us the book. The story is about all monsters wearing underpants and it makes them look unscary! Sayaka asked us if we were wearing underwear like the monsters.

B: Pants? Underpants.
H: Underpants.
K: Underpants.
K: (Looking at his bottoms)
L: Diaper?
M: Underpants! (He pointed it out)
O: Underpants! (Sayaka giggled and said, Really? Then Oscar said, Yeah!)
L: Diaper!
S: Diaper!
S: (She pointed out her diaper and smiled)

Today’s activity for circle time was…finding a home for our toys! Sayaka had a small tub covered with a blanket. She put her hand inside the tub and took out one of the toys. The first toy was building blocks. She was wondering where the toy belongs to. H raised her hands as she knew where to put them. She put it in the right box for the building blocks. She had other toys and a book in the tub. M, S, and L volunteered to help Sayaka to return them to the right place. Since it was a very short day today, after cleaning up the toys nicely it was time to go home already!

Thank you very much for today, it was a great day! We are looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

Love,

All the happy children in Petals Class
