The Magic of Teamwork

Happy Rainy Friday everyone! After greeting our beloved friends in the morning we immediately got busy! We had the triangle connecting blocks and we connected all the blocks together to make a super long snake! Some of us sat down with a pipe cleaner and threaded beads on it to make our special bracelet. A lot of our friends wanted to make another one for their family. A few of our friends wanted to make another Jersey craft so we had a table for that too. After everyone had finished their crafts, we had our circle time. We began by singing some songs together to get more familiar with each other. We sang the “Good Morning Song” and the “How Are You Song”.

Nimo read us another book today, it was called “Sofa Dog” by Leonie Lord.

Nimo: What is a sofa?

D: Sofa is hungry and sofa eat snacks!

L: A place where you can sit.

A: Sofa is eating with everyone, sofa is food you can eat

N: Sofa is everything!

Z: Sofa is something to sit on.

K: Sofa is big like bed. You can lie down!

The book was about a dog and his “human” Sophie who were enjoying their special sofa time, but as time went by, more and more people sat down on the couch until the dog got squeezed out. Eventually, a teeny tiny flea nibbled on everyone and made them itchy. Sophia said, ”if you have an itch you all have to go home!” and thus everyone had gotten off the couch and the Dog and Sophia once again had their special sofa time together.

After our book time we read the question of the day, “Does everyone need to listen when working as a team?” Nimo asked us to remember that question as we began our activity. First, we were handed a sheet of tissue paper and we played around with it. Like throwing it up in the air and catching it, balancing it on our heads, rolling it up into a ball then hitting it with our rackets. Next we gathered into a circle and began tearing the tissue paper up into small strips. We tore lots of paper and made a huge pile of torn tissue paper. With our large pile of torn paper, we threw it around and had lots of fun making a huge mess. For the next part, three friends sat in the middle and the rest of us would gather the tissue paper and made a circle around our friends. Then on the count of three, we all used our table tennis rackets (which were made from fans that we decorated) to blow the tissue paper. The paper made a large storm around our sitting friends. We each had two turns to be in the middle, our friends loved it! For the last 10 minutes, our teachers let us do anything we wanted so we swam in the paper, threw it around, rolled it in, and anything else we could think of!

We had a fantastic time playing with tissue paper today! We learned how important it is for each member of the team play their part to make the experience as magical as it can be! Thank you very much everyone for a lovely week! Have a great weekend and see you all again on Monday!

Love,
