Tomatoes, Tomatoes

Happy Thursday Everyone! We had a fantabulous day singing, running, and planting! We started our morning crafting our thank you cards and finishing up the pages in our portfolios! When we were finished with our crafts, we lined up the chairs and pretended we were riding and driving a train! We kept a careful watch on the clock and notified everyone when the train was leaving and when the next train would come. After our morning free play time, we gathered together to sing some songs together. We have gotten so good at singing, many of us have started to try snapping our fingers too.

Before we started our circle time, Nimo wanted to read the last book from our World Book Day celebration. Last and definitely not least was L’s, Frozen Book. L’s book was very very long so we had her choose her favorite page and talk about it.

L: I like this because Elsa is using Ice Magic!

K: Elsa eat a lot of snow so she can do magic!

L: Here, Anna and Elsa are being nice together. Anna take Elsa’s glove and her hand froze everyone, but next they were friends together, that’s nice.

V: Olaf is a snowman!

Our question of the day today was, “Do you like tomatoes?” we learned that there are lots of ways to pronounce tomato, Shelley used the Ipad to play a song called, “You Say Tomato, I say Tomato”, in the song the singer pronounced tomato differently, same with “potatoe”, “neither”, and “either”.

K: I don’t like it. If it’s in my lunch I don’t want to eat it, because I don’t like.

K: I like it because it’s yummy, healthy, and sweet

K: If you have a kounaien (Canker sore) in your mouth you can use tomato to get better soon.

A: It’s yummy

L: I like cold tomato

We took a loot at our tomato and realized it has gotten so big it can stand up on its own.

L: It’s too long and its going to fall down.

We took it out of its small pot to move it to a larger pot.

T: The plant needs the roots to drink.

K: The roots feel soft

A: Feels Itchy

After we planted the tomato in a new pot we stuck a stick inside and tied the stem to it so it could stand up. Hopefully it will grow flowers and tomaotes soon! We spent the rest of our day at the park and had tons of fun!

Have a lovely evening everyone! See you all tomorrow!

Love,

Flowers
