Show and Tell Week: Day 1

We had a lot of activities set up when we arrived in the morning. At one table we painted Koinobori with Sayaka and on the other table we drew our Earth Day pictures with Pauline. In the back of the room we played with building blocks and read books.
Show and Tell
Last Friday we had World Book Day where we dressed up as our favorite book character. We also made up 5 guidelines when handling books. Today we saw the completed poster that will be put in our library.
Also on Friday we had a question. The questions was, “What is show and tell?” Well we found out what show and tell is today. It’s where we get to bring something from home and tell our friends about it. Last week we kept all the books so we can all have an opportunity to do show and tell. We’re all very excited to have show and tell and we all wanted to volunteer. Kai picked a random book from the book basket and it was… A!! He came up to sit on the special chair and we sang the show and tell song. It goes:
“Show and tell, show and tell.
Today is ____’s, show and tell.
Dada, Dada, Dada”
After the song, A started to tell us about his book it was called “Kake Make” It was a Lithuanian book.
Page 1 -Dog eating apple. Dog doesn’t eat this one. Mommy going to outside. He want to sleep.
Page 3 -This is not good (pointed the smoke) need to wash. Pancake, eating pancake. He is helping.
Page 5- Broken bicycle (turned the page) going to the park. (Her name is) Make.
Page 7– This is a small bike, this is a big bike.
Page 9– Elephant is eating an apple. Make is going on the car.
Page 11- Take away food...shopping! I going shopping, take away. Because kakemake ouchy hands. Pizza.
“Why did she get ouchy?” Someone asked .
H replied, “Because he sliced her finger. Put the bandage on.”
Page 13- This is going falling down( pointed first-aid-kit) dog is ouchy tummy.
Page 15- Want to eat this. Caterpillar want to eat this (pointed ants) caterpillar want to eat leaf.
Page 17- Look at the face! Looking watching video, TV.
Page 19- Daddy want to sleep.
Page 21- Going to swimming pool.
Page 23- Look swimming time. This is. A shark.
H, “There is not a shark in the pool, just a hat.”
Page 23- This is kakemake. Kakemake jump. Kakemake jump and Augustas jump.
Page 25- Ready book. Kakkemake want to sleep. Nobody here. They just sleeping .
Page 27- It’s stucking here.

We looked at a picture of 3 gnomes at the last page and some thought they were scary and some not.

Wow! Thank you for the amazing story A! He used a loud voice and was able to describe and tell us about the whole book! We’re looking forward to tomorrow’s show and tell!
It was such a lovely day today and we had to go to the park. We were lucky that Buds Class was there so we can play together!
