Lights, Camera, Action!

Would you be able to name the picture on our Question of the Day board? We looked at it and thought, “I saw it somewhere, but not sure what it is!”.

As we were talking about it, some of our friends wanted to guess the name of this object:

            K: A cracker?

            Ch: Boomer!

            K: Boomer

            Ki: Black clapper!

            Ka: Pink clapper. ACTION!

Liezel: (gave us a hint and clapped her hands)

A: I know! We use that for pretending people, so they know when to start.

Good job, K! It is called a CLAPPER! We have been so excited for our movie night. In fact, we are planning to have our very first “filming” of our own movies tomorrow. Last week, we discussed our roles during filming and showing of our movies.

Our interest sparked when Ak made a comment that the clapper was used in his drama class before. So, Vieda asked us if we know how a clapper is used.

K: When people are chatting, you can clap. (so they will be quiet)

Ad: So, people know you when you can start the movie.

Me: If you don’t have it, you do the movie night.

            K: Don’t know which movie night…

Y: So, people know when to start the movie.

And yes, a clapper helps in making the editing of the movie easier. We saw some words on the clapper that says, “SCENE”, “TAKE” and a lot of more. These are the details that make sequencing the movie easier.

STORY TIME: What If You Had Animal Hair by Sandra Markle

Today’s story time was a bit different than usual. As we guessed which animal hair we saw, we also learned some simple facts about them. At the end of the story, we shared how we would feel if one day, we woke up with animal hair on our head!

(What if you woke up with a hedgehog’s hair?)

V: I’ll be sad because I don’t want to have animal hair.

A: Sad because the hair is scared!
K: I will be sad cause I don’t know what happened.

A: Sad because I don’t have this hair (pointed at his own hair).

K: Sad because I like my beautiful hair.

Li: Sad because I like my beautiful hair.

C: I’ll be happy because you have different hair.

(Do you mind having a reindeer’s hair?)

            K: I like that hair!

A: I do mind because I don’t like that hair.

            Y: I like it because it’s long.

K: I want it because I can be the Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer!

Well, our teachers gave us a lot of thumbs up for guessing which animal the hair belongs to!

 Thoughts about the POST OFFICE

As you might have known by now, we are so lucky that we have kept a constant communication with the post office Flowers visited a couple of years ago.

We cannot pay them a visit this time, but they have informed us that they could share about post office via Zoom! Aren’t we so lucky?!

All of us have received a postcard or a letter that we found inside our mailbox at home. How did it get to our mailbox?

A: My mailbox is long and mail people go and push our house number and then put in the mails. In my house, the post box have a television so we know if something is inside or not.

K: I think they open the box and put the letters and postcards inside.

Ch: Maybe the number is inside and then they put it in.

K: The postman takes a key to open the post box and put it in the house.

Ch: They go to the country and send the letters to that area.

Y: The postman takes a letter, then look where the letter should go. And then ask the postman there to take the letter to that person.

Li: The postman sends the card to another people.

We had such a lovely day trying on the clapper while saying, “Lights, camera, action!”. It made us feel that we were in an actual filming of a movie! Just imagine how it would feel like tomorrow as we teamed up with our friends to record our movies. All the best to all the actors and actresses and movie staff in Flowers!

LOVE,

Flowers XOXO
