2 Days Left Until Our Big Day!
Here’s Sayaka reading “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, Wash Your Hair!”
Good morning Petals friends and teachers! We all had a busy and fun morning time. At the small table, we continued making the snowman with Kai. The winter gift is almost ready and they look so beautiful. We can’t wait to show it and give it to our family. With Sayaka we did snowflake craft making. We had a longer free play time today. Sayaka was going to ask us where we want to go today- park or temple? Then Kai looked at the window and noticed that it just started raining! “We can’t go to park, right?” Hiori asked Sayaka. She nodded her head and said, “Yeah….” So, Sayaka decided to have the circle time after snack.
By the way, we had a special guest today in Petals. It was a dog, it was a boy, and his name is Sparky! He was super nice and cute! Kai had to bring him because he had to take him somewhere today. We really enjoyed having Sparky. Sayaka mentioned that dogs can’t see well so they use their noses to sense the world around them. Dogs get scared when they are being touched suddenly. So when we approach them to touch, we should go slowly and use gentle hands to them. It makes them calm and lets us touch them happily. While Sayaka was talking about it, Sara was holding her soft toy. She asked Sara if she wanted to introduce her special soft toy. Sayaka asked, “Do you want to ask questions?” Hiori raised her hand and asked, “This dog, right?” Sara nodded her head. Lea asked, “Is boy….girl?” Sara nodded her head again and said, “Boy”. Rimi asked, “What name?” Then Sara said, “Doggy”. Collier wondered why Sparky was here today and asked Kai. Kai answered, “I need to take him somewhere today. Sparky doesn’t pee inside the house, he pees only outside so he can’t stay for a long time by himself.” Collier nodded her head and said, “Okay!”
After we finished snack time, we started our circle time with the book, “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, WASH YOUR HAIR!” written by Steve Smallma and illustrated by Neil Price. It was actually a funny book and also taught us about the importance of clean hair. Rapunzel, who was locked into the tower could’t wash her hair for a long time. Of course her hair gets dirtier, dirtier, and dirtier. Even though a few princes tried to rescue her, they gave up because of her greasy, dirty hair. Fortunately, one of the princes who was a hairdresser was able to clean her. It was funny that the prince gave a haircut and made wigs instead of asking, “Will you marry me?” It was a fun book. “Who wants to have bugs in your hair?” Sayaka asked with a giggle. Then Hiori said, “I do bath everyday.” “Lea, too. Lea shower” Lea told us. Kenzo said that he takes shower everyday, too. Sayaka said that being dirty makes us sick sometimes so we better keep ourselves clean!
Since it was raining, we decided to stay inside the classroom. We did a freeze dance. There are our pictures of faces on the floor and it tells us where we stand for the winter party. Today’s rule was to stand on them when the music stops. We were dancing, hopping, skipping, and crawling while the music was playing. When it stopped, we looked for the photo and stood on the picture. It was good exercise before lunch time!
We hope you all had a wonderful day. Thank you very much for today and see you all tomorrow!
Love,
All the thankful children in Petals Class
