Untangle the Surprise Object

The past few days we have been working on our fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination by using the spinner to paint and twirling pipe cleaners around various objects.

We were curious as to why there were trays with small toys all tangled up in pipe cleaners in it. This time, we were doing the opposite of what we have doing the past few days… untangling! The anticipation of wanting to see what surprise object is inside the tangled pipe cleaners was a motivation for us to push through the challenging task.

Our older friends enjoyed doing the untangling while our younger friends liked the feeling of the fuzzy pipe cleaners brushing on their faces.

Scribbling on  an ‘Upward’ Surface

Using the chalkboard & whiteboard is always sensorial treat for our little fingers. We get to feel the dusty chalk and the smooth surface of the whiteboard. We also found out which writing instrument is appropriate for each of the board.

Sensory Bag Making

We are working on another new sensory project… HUMONGOUS SENSORY BAGS! Tamara guided us in pouring & spreading paint and sprinkling  shiny sequins on a clear plastic sheet. We can’t wait to see how our project would look like in the coming days.

Making Melodies

Hearing the sound that the piano make when we press its keys  using our fingers always amazes us. Not only can our fingers and hands build things and help others, it can also make beautiful melodies. Thank you John for playing beautiful music and for showing us how we can make music with our fingers.

CIRCLE TIME

Our Circle Time today was a musical jam session as both Erika & Liezel played their ukuleles for us. We danced and sang a lot of songs such as Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds” and The Carpenter’s “Sing a Song” .

Sometime in the middle of Circle Time, we suddenly heard an alarm… the earthquake alarm! Our teachers told us to cover our heads with our hands and go under the table. We waited for a few moments until we heard the signal that it was safe to go out and wear our safety helmets on.

The earthquake drill sure made us hungry! We had our snacks then had a short discussion on what our hands can carry. Erika showed us how our fingers and hand should be when holding a bunch of marbles. We’ll find out more tomorrow!

The main highlight of today was our long around the neighborhood! We spent 30 minutes walking uphill & downhill to get familiar with the route going to the park. Needless to say, we had a good appetite for lunch and a nice nap after today’s great outdoor adventure!
