Free Play

This morning when we came in we had cubical blocks to play with and we used the dot markers to finish our name tag. We also really love our camping nook! There’s just something about being in a tent isolated from our surroundings.

Hello Time

We made a circle with our friends and then used our marshmallow feet to make it even bigger. Then we used our  big giant feet and stomped into a small circle. Then stomped into a big circle. We really had to use our listening ears to listen to the directions from Kai. After that we sang our hello song which goes:

Hello, hello, hello

We’re very glad to be here

Hello, hello, hello

It’s nice to be with you.

What is your name?

My name is _____.

It’s nice to be with you.

We went around and asked all our friends their names. Some of our friends are still a little shy to speak up in the circle but our older Petals friends showed us how to use a big voice. Maybe we can also practice singing at home to build our confidence. A, our attendance monitor, counted to see how many friends we had today. Before getting ready for snack Kai showed us our names one by one to see if we recognize our name. If we knew our name that means it’s time for us to line up.

Circle Time

Someone visited us today in Petals Class. We got in a big circle again after getting ready for the park, like we learnt yesterday. Our visitor came after we sat down. It was Harry the hare! We’ve seen him before when we walk into the classroom but we’ve never met him. We said, “Hi!” to Harry and he showed us what he does when we comes to Petals Class everyday. First he says, “Good morning” to the teachers and then he puts on his indoor shoes. His shoes are very small for his huge feet so it kept slipping off. We thought  was funny to watch his shoes come off all the time. After he changed shoes, Harry opened his backpack and took out his pouch to put on the trolley. We have a pouch too some of us thought. Then Harry hung up his backpack on the hook and washed his hands. He went into the kitchen area and we thought, “No he’s just pretending!!” like yesterday but Harry actually washed his hands because they were wet. There was a problem though, Harry couldn’t reach the paper towel on top of the trash can but lucky for him he can jump to get it. We’ll have to stand on our tippy toes. After doing all of his morning jobs Harry went and pick an activity to play with. We liked Harry and we wanted to be like him. Good thing he’s always in the classroom to remind us what to do for our morning jobs. Thanks Harry!

Park

We’ve been practicing and practicing to go to the park all week and we did it! We made it to the park and it was HOT! By the time we arrived we were already sweaty but that didn’t stop us from running around and playing with our friends and teachers. On the walk back one of our friend was scared to walk though the alley but the teachers reassured him that since we’re all together nothing will happen. It was a blistering hot way to end the first week of Petals Class. We hope you had an amazing week as we did. Enjoy your weekend!

Love,
