Staying Healthy!

February 27th 2020

We had a wonderful day today.

We really enjoyed free play time making new play dough, clean our toys, and play with our friends!

Morning Fun

“What are you doing?” “I want to do it.” “I can help you.” As soon as we looked into the classroom, the playdough making activity caught our eyes. Our play dough we have now is getting hard and old. Sayaka suggested to make a new one! We sat on the chair and started making new play dough. We made sure to use both hands and carefully pour ingredients in the bowl. After we put all ingredients, we mixed it together. Sayaka asked us if we can have two colors of it. It sounds great so we shouted, “green!” “Purple” “Pink” “Red” “Blue” She told us that she would like to have white playdough. Her idea is that we will mix white playdough and color playdough. Then we can enjoy to see the changing color. That’s a nice idea! Since we had many ideas to choose the color, we decided by majority vote. The results were...red was 4, green was 3, and blue was 2….So, we add red food coring into the bowl. After we finished everything, Sayaka put it in the microwave and waited for it to cool to be ready to play. We can’t wait to play with our new playdough tomorrow!

Luckily we had one more wonderful activity on the small table. Pauline was washing the toys we played with and was rinsing them with water in the tub. We asked Pauline if we can help her. We rolled up our sleeves and started washing. It looked super easy, but it was a little trickier than we expected. We thought that we rinsed them all enough with water. But, we noticed that there were so many bubbles still left over. So we rinsed it again. It was a great experience for us. After we all enjoyed morning fun time, we packed away for Maryna’s dance time.

Thursday dance time!

Our Ballet lesson for today was very intense! We had a longer time with Maryna which meant more songs to dance! We started our lessons with essential warm-ups and practicing our Ballet Positions and some moves. After our warm up routine, we got straight into dancing. We started with one of our favorite songs, the Scarecrow dance! The movements are so silly we all couldn’t stop giggling! Maryna’s dance selection today were songs we haven’t danced to in a while so it was great we could revisit them! Once our bodies were completely in ballet mode, we sat down with Maryna and did some advanced stretching. We finished our ballet lesson with our favorite number, Papurika. Maryna already knows we can dance to Papurika very well, so today, she taught us some small details to our moves. Like where to look when we dance and the exact timing to do our moves. We had tons of fun with Maryna and would have loved to do more, but we have to say good-bye because we are all very busy!

Circle Time-Healthy food VS Unhealthy food.

After we finished our snack time, we all gathered for today’s circle time. Sayaka told us that we might not be able to finish circle time because we need to go to park. We are going to  flower planting tomorrow. Today is the last chance to clean the soil for tomorrow.  So, she wanted to make sure for the time. She showed us lots of toy foods in the basket. Then she told us that we will do a simple but fun game.

The rules were simple…

Step 1: one of us picked a toy food for the basket.

Step2: We passed it around while Sayaka was playing the music.

Step3: When the music stopped, we also stopped passing the item around.

Step4: The person who had a toy food had to decide if it was healthy food or unhealthy food.

L had broccoli, Li had peas, A had ice cream, and H had cola. They all said, “This is a healthy food” Sayaka said, “Oh, ok let’s find out a little more about food from this book!” Unfortunately, we couldn’t finish reading it. So she said that she will continue it next time. Possibly tomorrow with Nimo. We hurried over to the park with our shovels and made sure we were ready for tomorrow!

Thank you so much for today, we had so much fun and we are excited for the flower planting tomorrow!

 Love,
