Ballet and all the fun things we do...
Good day dear friends and teachers! What a fun day again we had in Buds class! The weather keeps getting better and better. The cold breeze is just around the corner. Hence, we are wearing thicker clothes to school. Also, we don’t forget to wear our masks and most of our friends are becoming so accustomed to the routine now. We also feel that after the fall break, our minds and bodies are all set to learn and experience so much meaningful activities we have at school.
Free play Area
For our free play area, we got some ladder and slide cushions in the middle of our classroom. We also enjoyed going up and down as many times as we can until we got tired. This is also a good practice of our gross motor skills because for our age we totally need to move a lot more. Our tiny bodies need to develop fast and our minds are definitely becoming more alert as time goes by.
We also had some little plastic balls that we could use to practice our arm movements. Of course, we also have to think about being safe around with our friends so throwing balls at a wall was encouraged to do in the classroom. Some of us were reminded by our teachers because we always get excited to use our bodies to express our emotions and needs most of the time.
Table Activities
On our tables, we put some sensory materials we borrowed from Flowers Class. We got some textured tiles that were made of felt paper stuck with grains of salt. It was pretty interesting to look at and when we touched it some of us said that it felt a little “ouchy” probably because of the sandy feeling it had.
There were also big Magnet wands and our teachers showed us how they work. It was a bit tricky because we had to find which part of the wand can be magnetized to the other.
One of the popular toys we played with today was the “Latches board” This board has various latches of the door. We all tried to open them one by one and some of the latches were quite tricky to operate. So, our teachers taught us how to do it properly.
We also had the Figure puzzles on one part of our table and this time it was just connecting one part to the other. It was pretty much like a matching game that we play with the wooden tiles.
Art Activity
On the other side of the table, we had some black construction paper with white and orange paint. We used our pipe cleaners to spread all the colors around the black piece of paper. Our teachers said that we were making this backdrop to use for our game station tomorrow for Halloween Party. It was really nice to contribute and create something for our class. We are so proud after finishing the art and we’re excited to use it for tomorrow. We’re also curious about everybody’s costumes. We can’t wait to see them!
Circle time
Of course, our circle time won’t be complete with our “Good morning song”. Learning our names is always important and appreciating who we are is what we value in Buds class. We also sang our Baby Shark song together with some finger play movements we did with our friends. We clapped our hands and made a sound on the floor. It was quite impressive to see all of us following instructions and listening to our teachers on how to do the actions nicely. We also played with our latches board because we noticed that our friends were very engaged and interested in discovering what were hiding behind the small doors. There were six houses on the board. First we identified the colors like purple, blue, yellow, red, green and orange. We were called individually to open the latches and the hidden pictures were different animals that we know.
Ballet Lesson with Maryna
Our beloved Maryna came to our class to teach another lesson. It was great that we didn’t forget some of the routines we learned before the fall break and we still followed her instructions as much as we could. We loved stretching our bodies and made some amazing movements with our hands and legs. Thank you so much Maryna for another great class!
Earthquake drill
Today was also our earthquake drill in Buds. We heard the sound of the alarm and we instantly went under the table and pretend that we’re safe from the earthquake. We also put the helmets on which we were so great of maintaining them on our heads. Great job, Buds friends!
Park
The park is one of the special places we want to go to. The sun showed up and touched our little faces. We felt the warmth and the breeze of the weather at the same time. We also saw one of the baby brother from Petals class. We said hi to him at the park while John was holding him into his arms.
Thank you so much Ohana and have a great day!
Lots of love,
All the children from Buds class
