This is our home
Wow! It’s another beautiful weather and we couldn’t wait to go outside and play. Some of our friends were actually looking out the window to see their parents go before they started a wonderful day again in Buds class. After our momentous Dad’s day event, we went back to our regular school schedule. On our tables, we had another painting activity. This time, we made our own roof. We painted it with different colors like green, yellow and white. Some of our friends were very excited to mix all the colors and so we did! The whole effect was amazing and it became pretty colorful because of the colors mixing and giving it an interesting gradient.
The other table was filled with milk carton boxes. It was interesting because some of them were cut into half to make it look smaller. Erika was very kind to help us out in making sure that we put the scrap paper and glued them on the carton boxes. In the end, they look so adorable and we could actually include them in our Map Art that we have been working on.
For our circle time, we did our music session with John again. First, we made sounds on our bodies and copied what sounds we could hear from our teacher. For example, when they say, “Bababa” we have to copy the same. Next, we also chose our favorite music instrument. The choices were “egg shakers” and “bells”. We picked the egg shakers because we felt that it was easier to play. We did our chant as we followed John with the words and moved our hands around and around until we all stopped. We had to be careful with the pacing as we all needed to listen intently so that we could follow what he was doing. It was nice to see how everyone was paying close attention to the rhythm. We’re all following instructions as well. After our instrument session, we moved on to music and movement. Here, we needed to listen to what the drum was playing. If the drum was playing loud and big, we had to walk big steps. If the drum was soft but fast, we had to run around and if it was really tiny and soft, we had to tiptoe around the classroom. We also learned a new song called, “This is my home.” We are hoping to make a good song file of this so that we can send it to our parents as well. The song went something like…
This is my home
Let’s stay here together
This is my home
A place of love and care
Falalala….
We have spent a good amount of time at the park and saw some friends from other classes and schools around Motoazabu. Thank you so much Ohana for another beautiful day and see you all again tomorrow
Lots of love,
