Music is our life

Another beautiful day in Buds class! Today, we’re excited to see what was in store for us. The play dough table was busy and were excited to explore what we could do with it. We’ve got some different utensils and lots of plastic cookie cutters that we could use to create some figures. There were some bears, snakes and pancakes that we made altogether. We used the small rolling pin to make sure that everything was flat enough and put on some toppings like little berries on our pretend pancake.

Some of our friends got so interested in playing the piano and they also requested our teachers if they could open and play with it freely. We just loved touching those keys and enjoyed our time making music in the classroom. We slowly got used to the rhythm because we wanted to sing along to the song. Music is just a great tool in making our environment more friendly and safe. It gives the sense of joy and more time for interaction. We sang the song called, “Walking in the jungle” and our friends just listened and followed the dance steps all throughout.

During circle time, we learned about counting from one to ten. We also showed our fingers and some of our friends need more practice how to count them verbally and recognize the quantity. Then, we borrowed one of our friends’ stuffed monkey and she willingly let her monkey play with us. The monkey jumped for ten times and then he hid somewhere around. Then, we looked around the classroom and searched for the missing monkey. Most of our friends knew where the monkey was hiding and it was fun to do this game in our class. For our bigger friends, they were guiding us and making sure that we could find the monkey in the right places. Our teachers were very patient with us as well.

We always love our time at Ohana and gradually our friends are becoming more settled in our class. Thanks to our older friends they are always taking good care of us. Thank you so much Ohana and have a great day!

Lots of love,

Buds Class children
