We Were Already Babied Before

“We were already babied before.” This phrase  was said  by one of petals friends today. At Ohana, we always tell our teachers and ourselves, “I am not baby anymore;” “We are big boys and girls.”  Being big girls and boys is actually not sooo easy, but we can do it  and try our best . Today ‘s lesson was, “Think before you act.” What does  that mean ? Lets’ see what we did today.

Morning fun

We had the peg activity on the table and stuffed toys on the carpet area. Of course, our kitchen area opened as always! You know what, we made our new play dough today! Yaaaay! Sayaka asked us about colour for the play dough. Hmmmm...let us THINK...Green! Red! Blue! We decided by majority vote….and it’s blue! We all had turns to help Sayaka to make it. Sayaka suggested to use both hands when we pour ingredients into the bowl. After we put everything and mix it together, She put it in the microwave. She told us that we have to wait until tomorrow. We can’t wait to play with it.

Greeting circle time

After we cleaned up, we had a morning greeting time. Sayaka asked us about today’s weather. “It’s Sunny today because its not raining now!” some of Petals said. Then Pauline helped us clarify it. She told us that when we see Mr. Sunshine, it means it’s sunny. But, if we see cloudy sky, it means that it’s cloudy. We checked outside again, and Thought what’s the weather today….it seems like today is cloudy! Oh, wait a minute...Can we still go to our park? YES! We can go! Sayaka told us, we will have early park time today. So, we started our snack earlier than usual. Before we are off to go, She did an apron theater. Today’s story was a big eater Gorilla (くいしんぼうゴリラ) it also had a funny song about the gorilla. While we were listening the story, we sang the song. Luckily, we could see flowers class at the park so we enjoyed playing with them together.

Circle time

After we came back to Ohana, we had today’s circle time.  Sayaka showed us one of our books and its, “Think Before You Act” She asked us what does it mean by that...What we use to THINK.

U: We use color yellow
M: We use fork
O: The blue!
E: Using our ears!
A: Pink

Pauline pointed out her head...She seems like thinking something.
O: The head!

Sayaka: Thank you for your idea. Lets see this book and THINK about what THINK is..

In the book, there were cats and one cat was using ouchie hands to our friends. Then she started asking us what would happen if she didn't show respect to our books. She pretended that she was breaking them. E told her that she needs use gentle hands otherwise they will break. “So, we need to THINK before we do something.” For example, we need to THINK, is it okay to use ouchie hands or gentle hands to things and people, Sayaka said. She asked what we will happen if she takes toys away from friends without asking.  A said, “You should do this (Flashes thumbs up sign)” E said, “ Using your mouth. Can I have the book please?” M said, “Using your words!” She added what we talked about it is also important being big girls and boys. Thank you for the lesson. We will try our best!

We had a wonderful today! We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

Love,

Happy children in Petals Class
