Miyashita-sensei Monday
Good day everyone! Hope you had a wonderful weekend with the family. We just love seeing your children being in Buds each day. Today, there were so many amazing activities that we prepared just for them.
Table activities
Our table was filled with puzzles with different number of pieces. We also had some blank pieces of paper and food pictures that we could stick on. Little by little, our bigger friends are becoming more aware on how to use the spatula appropriately. Also, our bigger friends were more focused in completing the task and we’re also proud of what they could do now. Tomorrow, we will have more cutting practice for them and for our younger friends, we will have our ripping practice.
Carpet area
The carpet area was also busy with Lego blocks and finger puppets. For our bigger friends, they can now construct 10 to 15 blocks to make a tower. They also chose different colors to go with it. It’s very fascinating to see how they can improve their building skills by comparing what their teachers have done to what they have made. Slowly, our younger friends were also trying to copy as much as they can and this influences their learning as well. The finger puppets were taken out of the bag and we put them all on and started singing songs with them. We pretended that these puppets were actually talking to each other.
There was also a baby that we always looked after in Buds. So, we arranged the special beddings for our baby and started singing lullaby songs at the same time. The children were so full of love and care towards our baby Bud.
Our first gym class
We missed our Miyashita-sensei so much and some of our friends were so happy to see him. Our new friends were still trying to get used to his presence but for sure eventually, we’ll all have a great time with his gym sessions. First, we did some animals movements such as bear walk, crocodile crawl and rabbit hop. After that, he told us that we’re going to play our ghost game wherein we all stood against the wall and when he would say, “I am a ghost!” We all ran towards the other side of the room so that he wouldn't catch us.
We said goodbye to him by giving him a big hug. It’s always nice to see our Miyashita-sensei at Ohana because he always brings a positive energy in our class.
Circle time
We sang our favorite “Good morning” and this time we learned about our names and different emotions by showing them using our faces. Our teachers told to make a happy face, sad face, angry face, hungry face and sleepy face. We also used our finger puppets to sing “One Little Finger” and we pointed on our body parts such as, hair, chin, tummy, legs, knees and toes.
We continued our singing sessions by moving around the classroom and did lots of dancing around and around.
It is also important to do our rope holding practice as we get ready to go to the park. Hopefully, when everyone feels more comfortable in the classroom. Thank you so much Ohana for another beautiful day.
Lots of love,
Buds children
