First Day of Winter School
December 18 – Winter School Begins
Baby shark doo doo doo doo!
Welcome to the first day of Winter School in Buds Class!
We kick started the morning by listening to our favorite songs and dancing in the play room. Of course, “Baby Shark” was the most popular song for this morning.
As the music continued, the children joined in with musical instruments and pretended to be the teachers, whilst the others had to follow them. They all lined up on their own, like carolers, playing their instruments to Chiaki and Kiki. As the audience we couldn’t help but join in the band with them. Towards the end, Chiaki brought out chairs to see what ideas they would come up with, and to our pleasant surprise, everyone sat down with their favorite instruments and played together as a whole class. Needless to say, we were so proud to see how well they were cooperating with each other, and playing their instruments to the rhythm of each song.
Once the music slowed down, the children moved onto playing with their blocks. Parents, we have some young engineers in the making in Buds Class! The children made amazing cars and buildings out of their blocks. They sure were exercising their motor skills this morning.
After snack time, it was time to head to the park. We went to the park earlier than usual, so that the children could enjoy the beautiful weather outside. We sang songs and visited the “sleeping dinosaur.”
At the park children enjoyed the sunshine and played openly with their friends and teachers.
On the way back to Ohana, we played a fun game with the children, were we asked them “What sounds do animals make?” As a twist Kiki decided to ask “What sounds do teachers make?”
The result:
John John- “la la la la”
Chiaki- “ahhhhhh”
Nimo- “I love you!”
Kiki- “Peanut butter lips”
We had a wonderful first day of Winter School and can’t wait for the rest of the week!
Lots of love,
