When I grow up…

We made our special cards for our moms for Mom’s Day! After we finished the cards, we played with the colored frogs and numbers on our activity table and drew on the black board out on the balcony!

We started with our good morning song and updating our calendar.

Nimo: Is today Wednesday?

T: No

M crossed out 11 on the calendar. Then said, “It’s 12! Thursday!”

K: Nimo not here.

Nimo: I was at the fire station learning some things from the firefighters.

A: Why?

Nimo: They were teaching me many things about fire safety.

We started our circle time reviewing what we talked about yesterday.

Nimo: I wasn’t here yesterday, but I heard you learned about a country. Which country did you learn about?

K: Astronaut!

T: Astronaut go *pointed at the rocket*

Nimo: We did talk about astronauts, but maybe not yesterday. I think you talked about a place Lucy is from.

K: (Lucy is from) Flowers Class.

Nimo: You are correct, where do you think she was before Flowers Class?

M: England.

Nimo: Right! Who knows which continent England is on?

K: North America?

Nimo: Europe?

M: Yes!

We found the flag of UK on our walls and tried to remember the pictures Lucy showed us yesterday.

M: Cake!

L: I like chocolate cake.

M: It was strawberry cake.

A: I have chocolate in my house.

Nimo: What else did you see?

L: Double-decker bus.

K: Bus!

T: Daddy needs something.

Nimo: In England?

T: Yes. Daddy likes surfing!

A: I like surfing too!

After our short review, we thought about what we wanted to be when we grew up. Our teachers sang a song they made and told us we will be singing our own part!

For our next activity, we talked about Mom’s Day and practiced our song. We also practiced one of the games we plan to play with our moms!

We finished up our day reading, “Zog And The Flying Doctors” by Julia Donaldson and Axel Sheffler and had fun playing at the Green Space!

Thank you all for another fabulous day. We hope you all have a wonderful evening and see you all again tomorrow!

Love,

Petals
