Happy Friday everyone!
Today was our last day exploring life in the Arctic. We had so much fun touching snow and helping the polar bears who were stuck in the ice, but first our morning free play.
MORNING FREE PLAY
As soon as we walked in we noticed the train tracks that were built. We were so excited to play, but first we had to do our morning jobs. At the front table there were paper and colored pencils. We had a few friends who joined and drew many different things. At the back table we had people blocks. K collected all the blue blocks and connected them together. Blue is his favorite. In the back room N played with the trains while he said, “Choo choo.” K and R joined in as we all said, “Chugga chugga choo choo.” R stood in front of our art wall with all the different animals we learned about. He smiled as he said, “Tiger! Tucan! Monkey! Frog! Turtle!” It was a very fun morning.
CIRCLE TIME
N counted the friends we had in circle time today. We had 6 friends in Buds class today. Thank you N! Yesterday we learned about our new Arctic friend. K reminded us that it is called a Walrus. It had very long tusks. We showed our teachers our tusks using our fingers.
Our teacher asked if we remembered what the walrus likes to eat.
Teacher: Do they like to eat dogs?
K: No
Teacher: Do they like to eat elephants?
K: No
T and K: Shaking head no
Teacher: Do they like to eat alligators?
K, R, N: Shaking head no
Teacher: Hmm, what do they like to eat then?
K: Banana
Our teacher giggled as she said no. She showed us an animal and R said, “Fish.” Yes, walruses like to eat fish. We all took turns feeding the walrus. The walrus got very full so we said bye bye walrus.
This week we learned about the Arctic. It is cold, snowy and icy. Our teacher showed us a special surprise. It was snow! T said, “Cold.” There was another surprise and it was a bin with ice! There was something stuck in the ice. Can you guess what it was? There were polar bears! We learned so much this week about the Artic animals, what they like to eat and their body parts. We also learned that it is a cold place unlike the desert.
Next week we will learn about life in the ocean. We hope you have an amazing weekend and we will see you on Monday!
Love,
Buds XOXO
