What Kind of House?

We played a lot with the haunted house during free play time. Actually ever since Halloween we’ve been playing with the haunted house. Today we took blocks in there to play with. We folded the outside section to make it look like a door. We were also telling our friends to come back later when they tried to come in. After they knocked it down we weren’t bothered with it. Actually we turned it into a tunnel, it gave more space for more friends to crawl in! Since we love it so much the teachers thought we could do something with it for our winter holiday party. Elsewhere in Petals Class we played with the blocks and built structures with it. We also worked with Sayaka individually to make our thankfulness wreath.

After cleaning up, we gathered together to warm up our bodies. We picked some movements to do and it included jumping, stomping, Baby Shark, Captain America and Spider Man. For our holiday party, teachers thought it would be amazing to have a house. We can renovate our haunted house to something else. They showed us pictures of a candy house. We loved the idea of having candy. Kai said we could eat it after we made it. We gave a big, “Nooo!” because we can’t eat cardboard but we also love candy so maybe…? The other picture was of a winter castle. We wooed and ahhed over the beautiful castle. The girls really loved looking at the castle. We took a vote but a lot of us were voting two times or not voting at all so the teachers decided to put the candy house on one side of the room and the castle on the other side. To vote we stood behind the picture that we wanted. We counted the friends on either side and it was a very close call of 7 to 8. The winner was… CANDY HOUSE! Throughout the rest of the day we went to the computer and picked out our favorite candy so we can decorate the house later. We picked candy canes, M&Ms, different kinds of lollipops, chocolate bars, KitKat, Sour Patch Kids, chocolate pizza and gummy bears. It’s going to be so much fun making a candy house! Before getting ready for snack we looked at our haunted house and it looked a little beat up. We talked about how we should play with our house. Sometimes we try to fit too many people in it, use it as a door, crawl around our friends and jump on it. We love playing with our house so we agreed on using gentle hands when playing with it from now on. We’ll have to see how long that lasts but hopefully we can use the house for the rest of the year!

The weather looked amazing outside! So we decided to go to Amishiro Park to play. It was a long walk but we were getting excited once we saw the park. We absolutely loved playing on the big slide! All the walking and playing made us hungry. We ate so fast today and finished most of our lunches! It’s so great to play in wonderful weather. We hope you had a chance to get out!
