As we are looking forward to celebrating Earth Day tomorrow, we talked about our Earth Day poster and watched something special during circle time. We remember the Earth from our past discussions about the shape circle. Our teachers say that the Earth is the place we live in. Oh, if this is the place we live in, then we must take care of it! You can see in our poster some of the ways we can do to help take care of our earth.
We talked about which better option to use when we do our grocery shopping. Is it plastic bag or an eco-bag? To understand a bit of the impact of using plastic bags on our ocean, we watched a short clip of a sea turtle who got stuck with plastic bag in the ocean. What a pity! Another way of showing our love to our earth is by segregating our trash. Learning about this through a song makes it easy to remember and fun as well! Here’s the link to the song if you wish to sing it at home! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySmXUfVK2Qg
For morning activities, we enjoyed playing with puzzles of shapes, sea creatures and an activity about different locks. Ma was working on the shape puzzle when she suddenly got up from her chair. She placed the puzzle pieces, square and circle in the same shape on our floor. Lo and Ly watched on and enjoyed making the connection of the shape puzzle pieces with the shapes on the floor! That’s amazing!
We also started working on our omikoshi craft. We are going to decorate the bottom part of the omikoshi with trees made of tissue rolls (for the trunk) and green tissue paper for the leaves. We can’t wait to put our “trees” on the omikoshi!
Tomorrow is Earth Day. As part of our celebration, we plan to participate in our flower-planting project. We are excited to see how the flower garden will look like!
