We are strong and brave!

Today we continued learning about being strong and brave. We learned that being strong isn’t just about our muscles, it’s also about our hearts and minds and being brave means trying something even when it feels a little hard.
• Question of the day
K: Are you strong? Are you brave?

What is strong?
K: like this (made a strong pose)
E: strong!
What makes us strong?
R: bones
M: doing Karate
K: the face, head
K: mouth
What makes us brave?
J: just like the rabbit one. He do best. He tried to fight the wolf. When bad guys come, superhero punch the bad guy.
W: I like superhero
E: You need to put costume on
Why do you feel brave today?
K: I want to be brave
Why do you feel strong today?
R: Because I do Karate
M: Because I do Karate too!
K: Because my brother punched me. I took my brother to bedroom and close the door.
J: Because I can take out two chairs
E: Because I can pick up the whole sky.
J: Because I fight bad guy sometimes
S: Because the first time my teeth was wiggling but now I had a lot of them fall put, so I’m not scared.
Then we played the “Sleeping Dog” game that helped us practice being strong and brave. We gently tried to get bones from a sleeping dog. It was a lot of fun!
Are you scared of the dog?
Flowers: No!
K: It’s just a toy
E: I want to try
M: I want to try too!
S: I want him to wake up!
W: I want. *Was surprised when the dog woke up.
S: I want to try!
• Things we learned

  1. We used strong hands to try to get bones from the dog.
  2. We also used our brave hearts because the dog might suddenly wake up.

This day was extra special because we had a farewell party for J and K! Saying goodbye is a little scary but we were very brave, lots of hugs and kind messages made it a little easier. To J and K, we loved having both of you here in Flowers Class. Good luck on your next adventure.
E: When you come back to Japan, go to my house
J: come to my house too
Love,
Flowers
