Happy (RAINY) Thursday everyone!
Today, the Buds Class decided to enjoy a bit of water play in between the rain showers!
Before that, we discovered some animals that needed our help to be unraveled from being trapped in yarn! Oh no! We were challeneged to use or fine motor and determination to help free our animals friends. Once we found the loose end of the yarn, we were able to pull them and found that if we pulled up, the animals would roll out of their traps! Some of us celebrated by clapping and we even pretended to take them for a walk as we held onto the yarn, pulling them along with us. We love animals!
In the free play area, we found our healthy salad set had been waiting for us, along with a few delicious donuts to serve. We enjoyed using the spoons to scoop up the salas pieces like tomatoes, cucumber slices and more. Suddenly we saw that our beloved giant box had been transformed! There were colorful scarves sticking out of the sides all over! The teachers asked if we could find and collect them all so we dashed around to pull and slide them through the small slits in the box.
When the teachers asked us to clean up, we hurried over because we were so excited to see that the big box of scarves had returned and once we placed our name cards on the wall, Brandon invited us to come and thread a scarf into one of the small holes on the side. It was easy to pull the scarves out but we noticed that it took even more time for us to carefully poke the scraves back into place. The teachers clapped when we worked together to finish them all! Once they were in place, we then counted them by pulling them out one by one. We learned that threading and weaving take lots of focus and patience sometimes but we Buds love to experience new was to strengthen our fingers and hands!
Afterwards, we ate our yummy morning snacks and then got ready for some fun water play because when we looked outside, the rain had stopped and when we went to the balcony, the air was warm! Yay! We were so excited to see our other animal friends there waiting for us along with the big water wheel and the fun water scooping tools to use!
For story time today, we read “The Color Monster” by Anna Llenas. In the story, we reviewed some of the emotions we sometimes feel and took note of the blue rain illustrations in the story as it resembled the rainy morning we had.
Thank you so much for an amazing day everyone!
Love,
Buds
