World Assistance Cambodia

Ohana International School in Tokyo is partnering with World Assistance for Cambodia to build a kindergarten on to an existing primary school, called the Kirivorn School, in rural Cambodia . Our goal is to provide the head start that children need to be successful in the classroom, learn life skills, find new opportunities and ultimately, realize their dreams.

Thanks to the experience of our partner, we know that with early education, parents of children become more involved and committed to their child's success and that children are more prepared to do well in elementary school. It is this positive start to school, that we want to provide for children living in rural Cambodia.

We are a community who believes deeply in the value of early education during the most critical time of a person's brain development before the age of eight. By providing learning opportunities during this time, research shows the positive impact on cognitive skills, social-emotional growth, gross-motor skills and executive functioning.

As parents of young children, we were inspired by the stories from our friend Debbie Krisher-Steele who runs World Assistance for Cambodia. It seemed so fitting to try and provide the same types of opportunities for other children that we give our own.

Please help join us as we humbly try and make a difference by raising funds for this much needed kindergarten in rural Cambodia.
