Happy Thursday!
We were all so excited to come to school today and learn more about the rainforest, but first we had morning activities.
MORNING ACTIVITIES
This morning we created beautiful colorful butterflies using dot markers and coffee filters. At the other table, there was pink kinetic sand and E created hearts using the stencils. E and T also joined her and created mountains using their hands. They then poked the mountain with popsicle sticks. K joined for a short time because he was very busy playing Liezel’s ukulele and singing to us the wheels on the bus. We had a fun morning filled with lots of laughter.
CIRCLE TIME
Today we started circle time by reading the book, The Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. When K saw the front of the book he said, “Mushi (bug),” and when T saw the first page he shouted, “Sun!” There once was a T said, “Baby egg,” and the next morning it hatched into a tiny caterpillar. It was so hungry so it went to find some food and ate…
T: Strawberry
K: Watermelon
E: Apple
The caterpillar ate too much so he had a tummy ache, but he became big and fat. He built himself a small house called a cocoon. In the end, the caterpillar nibbled his way through his cocoon and turned into a beautiful butterfly.
This morning a few friends made a beautiful butterfly like the one in the book. We learned that butterflies fly and not walk through the rainforest. The teacher gave us all colorful scarves that are just like the butterfly wings. We all stood up and went flapping through the jungle with our butterfly wings. All the flapping got us very hungry so we all helped the teacher clean up and got ready for snack time.
We have one more day to continue to explore more about the rainforest. I hope to see you here tomorrow.
Have a great rest of your day.
XOXO,
Buds
