Valentine Craft and Circles

Happy Tuesday! February makes our hands full as we have been getting ready for Setsubun, Dad’s Day and Valentine’s Day. Making crafts that are associated with these events helps us make the connection to them. We can’t wait to have parents come to Buds and celebrate Setsubun and Dad’s Day soon! For now, please read below all the fun we had today.

MORNING ACTIVITIES

For table activities, we worked on our eye-hand coordination skills as we completed the wooden puzzles. We found some puzzles that we could easily complete, while others were a little challenging. Little by little, we have begun to grasp the concept of a whole picture puzzle. It could have taken us a bit longer to complete such a puzzle, but we were proud that we could try completing it! For floor activities, we enjoyed playing with BIG LEGO BLOCKS. We had fun playing in the kitchen, too!

On another table, we worked on our Valentine craft. Ripping red and pink paper was fun! We liked the crunchy sound that the paper made when we ripped it! Then, we used paste to stick the small, ripped papers on our heart template. Vieda painted our hands with red paint and had our handprints on the back of the heart template. What would this craft look like? Please stay tuned to find out what it is!

CIRCLE TIME

To start our circle time, we read a book that talks about farm animals. As each page introduced us to farm animals, we got so excited to call out the name and sometimes the sounds that they make.

               Ta: Sheep!

               Sh: Moo!

               Ta: What’s this?

               Ta: Pig!

Then, we did our favorite attendance activity. Of course, we love counting our name tags to know the number of friends who came to school. La helped us in our counting activity by putting the number cards next to our names. Thank you for helping, La! Perhaps next time, our other friends can help, too!

Last week, we remembered that we had a dance number about circles in our Spin and Shine class. Yes, we love circles! As the song goes, circles do not have corners. There isn’t any better way to check this than to hold a circle! Vieda distributed circles (curtain rings) to all of us. We touched the curtain ring and felt that there were indeed no circles! Next time, we would love to look around us and see how many circles we can find!

PARK TIME

We were blessed with good weather today. It felt good to walk to Step Park. Some of our friends were a bit sad today, but halfway to the park; they started smiling😊 At the park, our teachers were impressed to see how we played nicely with each other. Se was such a big brother to his friends as he helped the little ones to slide down the blue when they got stuck! He walked to the swings and started pushing the swing for his friends, too! What a fun day to be with our friends at the park!

Brace yourself for our Setsubun event tomorrow!
