Traffic Lights

Our day was filled with fun activities that involved art and music. Our busy hands started working on creating something for road safety. We had fun painting cardstock with black paint. Lo and Ma enjoyed painting and said, “Painting black!” and smiled when their hands got some black paint. Soon after, other Buds friends joined in, too and enjoyed the painting activity. Our summer birthday celebrants had a wonderful time painting their canvasses as well. On the other table, we had lots of fun playing with puzzles. Our teachers were impressed to see how we were able to work on a puzzle independently. We took note of the patterns and color and were able to find the right spot for each piece of the puzzle. When we could not, we tried a different spot and tried more until we found it. We called our teachers, “All done” to show how proud we were! Way to go, Buds! Keep it up!

After singing our Hello Song, we sang We’re Going on a Lion Hunt and had so much fun doing the action and singing the words, “We can’t over it, we can’t go under it!”. It was an interesting way to begin our circle time.

For story time, we enjoyed reading What the Ladybird Heard by Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks. It was fun sounding out different animal sounds. The twist in the story where the animals switched sounds to protect the cow made us wonder and laugh at the end! Here’s a peek into the conversation we had at story time:

               Vieda: Is it a farm?

               Ly: Farm!

               Lo: Quack, quack!

               Vieda: What is this animal?

Ma: A cow. Moo, moo! Horse, neigh!

               Vieda: What are these?

               He: Moon, stars

At the beginning of our attendance activity, we went through some pictures. When asked, He said, “School. Home!”. Ma excitedly shared, “Daddy home!” while Lo added, “Mommy daddy at home. Office”.

For our circle time discussion, we talked about traffic lights. We reviewed the meaning of each color by singing. It goes like this, “Green light means go, go, go! Red light means go! Red light means stop, stop, stop! Yellow light means wait, wait, wait”. Traffic lights keep us safe. It’s worth remembering what they mean.

We hope you had a wonderful day, too!

The forecast said that it is going to rain tomorrow. Strong winds are expected, too, so we are going to skip our rainy adventure tomorrow.

Have a lovely evening!

Lots of love,

Buds XOXO
