Happy Friday everyone. We started our morning doing Kakizome, Fukuwari and playing with the kitchen. For Kakizome, we tried our best to pinch and squeeze the brush handle to practice our tripod hold. We also learned the Kanji for 2, 0 and 6. For Fukuwari, we looked for our own face and put our features in the right place.
After morning free play, we had circle time. We talked about the new year and what we did for our holidays. We also discussed what animal is leading this year. Some of us thought it was the mouse and others remembered it was the horse.
E : I went to Bali. I swam in the beach, just a little bit.
M : Beach… sunny beach. I had a Christmas Strawberry Party.
H : Hawaii. At the beach.
A : I went to the fire.
Esmi : In Singapore?
A : *nods*
Esmi : What month is it?
L : January!
M : 2026!
H : It’s cold!

When we finished circle time, we had story time. For storytime we reread the Japanese Zodiac story. We looked at the animals and our friends who didn’t know the story guessed who’s the fastest.
Esmi : Who do you think is going to win the race?
H : Dragon.
E : Tiger.
T : Cow
L : Pig
S : baa baa black sheep!
E : We saw two wild pigs. They were so scary
M: Sheep!
S: Horse!
A: Rabbit!
K: Mouse!
S: Chicken!
Sound
E: Squeak
Petals: Moo
E: Neigh
Petals: Sheep!
E: Woof woof!
Castle
E: Red!
L: Red and Black and Orange
E: Up the Clouds
T: *Raised his hand high*
Esmi : Right! The mouse was first because the cow was like a taxi.
L : Taxi!?
E : No!
M: Yes, like a taxi!
Esmi : What sound does a rooster make?
E : Cockadoodle do!
H : *laughs* Cockadoodle do!

We got ready for Maryna’s dance class after finishing our Zodiac story. We finished our morning playing at the park and had lunch.

Thank you everyone for a great start to our year and see you next week!

Love,
Petals
