Happy Monday friends! We started our morning with a couple of crafts. We made two Thank You Cards, one for M Sensei and another for the fire station. We cut pieces and glued it on to the card, some of us wrote “Thank You”. After morning free play, we got ready for Taiko. The teachers helped us put on our Hachimaki and then we had social skills time. For social skills time, our class discussed what is okay behavior and what behavior is not okay when we have guests.
Esmi : Today is a special day, why?
N : Drum!
H : gong gong gong pa pa pa!
Esmi : Is it a small drum?
N : So big! (shows with his arm!)
Esmi : sensei is coming to show us how to play the drums. Who should we listen to?

When Taiko was finished, we had story time and circle time. Today’s story was, “Just a Snowman” by Mercer Mayer. It is about a brother and sister having fun on a snow day! The brother and sister did many fun things some of us can do and some of us have yet to try!

E : Sunglasses!
Esmi : Does mommy look happy?
N : NO!
L : Angry!
Esmi : Who can ice skate?
M : Me!
N : I haven’t tried it yet… too big!
Esmi : How many marshmallows do you like in your hot chocolate?
N: 5!
E: I like 100!
M : 100!
Y : Marshmallow 3!
S : No… I don’t like.
I : No, I don’t like marshmallows!
H : 2! 2 marshmallows!
L : 5!
Esmi : What was the story about?
M : Brother and sister!
H : Snowman!
I : Brother and sister build a snowman!
For circle time we talked about our name and the alphabet. We practiced for our winter party too!
We got ready for lunch after circle time and had nap time. Thank you all for a fun start to our week. See you next time!
