Scoop And Pour!

April 13, 2026

Welcome back to this great weather Monday Buds friends!

On the front table today, some of our friends continued working on their square murals by stamping patterned square designs in pink, green and purple paint! We love stamping and making the pages come to life with color is even more exciting for our little Buds! Other friends worked on sprinkling bits of nature onto their wooden square frames and others by sticking on tiny foam shapes to adorn the frames. Talk about a finger workout! It’s so much fun to use our fingers to create our world!

At the back table, we discovered a pouring station! This station helps us develop our hand-eye coordination. We noticed some clear cups with a black line drawn onto them towards the bottom. This was to show us where to stop pouring the secret ingredient. Today’s secret ingredient was… Pasta bit and rice! We used some handled scoopers to scoop up and then transferred the rice and pasta into the cups, making sure to watch the line closely to fill it up. We poured over and over again. It was just like how mom and dad pour things at home! What sort of things can you pour together at your home?

In the free play area, the magnet connectors were chosen by popular demand. We are discovering that we can make new patterns and connections by where we begin sticking the magnet shapes. The teachers invited us to make a spider web rainbow inside the frame. Sometimes it was too heavy and fell with a crash! We laughed and giggled but kept trying because we love seeing the different shapes swing and hang about!

Before we knew it, we heard Shoma Sensei knock on the door! Today, Shoma invited us on a cone hunt! He scattered the different cones around the room and we took turns to gather them as fast as we could. When Shoma said “time up!”, we laughed and still tried to gather more. We stretched by swinging our arms and then also by laying on our tummy and pushing our arms up to look like a snake. Afterwards, we stood in front of a cone and copied the action of Shoma by watching him very carefully. He would say “let’s run!”, and we ran at our cones before he called out a body part for us to freeze and touch. We would run, run, run and then hear Shoma say “HEAD!”, and we would put our hands on our heads. It was lots of fun to copy as fast as we could. We love Shoma Sensei!

After we said bye-bye to Shoma, we got ready for a walk around the neighborhood to enjoy the weather. We saw the pet shop, ice cream shop and even a big golden retriever puppy in the animal hospital window today!

Thanks for an awesome Monday everyone!

Love,

Buds
