Happy Tuesday! What beautiful weather we had today! For outdoor play, we had lots of fun playing at the Green Space area. We brought some balls and sand toys with us and had a lovely play time. Finding an interesting bug made our park time extra special. When we got back to school, H said, “Bug! So scary!” while doing a scared face. Sh joined in the conversation, “Bug, yes!” and pointed at his shirt! H saw the bugs in Sh’s shirt and said, “No more scary!” and both giggled! Everyone seemed to have played so much today that at nap time, everyone fell asleep immediately.
MORNING ACTIVITIES
Our hands were busy with activities such as puzzles, construction blocks and painting. For puzzles, we have been working on being able to take note of the shapes of the puzzle pieces and finding the appropriate spots for them. It’s been really rewarding to complete puzzles! The colorful blocks were great to build things, but today Ly and Em decided to use the arch blocks as telephones! They had lots of fun “calling” and “talking” to people! On our craft table, Ta and Ma patiently waited for their train to paint. At times, they put on their serious face while enjoying their painting activity. This painting artwork will be displayed as our year-end project. How time flies!
CIRCLE TIME
We have been walking around our community and luckily are able to enjoy different establishments. As a class, we were able to do our grocery shopping at Star Fruit, enjoyed a drink at Niwa coffee shop, observed beautiful artworks at the Hungarian Cultural Institute, read a lot of amazing books at Azabu Library and met the police officers at Azabu Station. What a wonderful adventure for Buds!
Wherever we go, we need to observe road rules to make our trips safe. We have been helping our teachers of saying, “Stop, please!” when we see vehicles approaching. We must pay attention to the traffic lights as well, so we can cross the road safely. Today’s circle time, we focused our attention on the traffic lights we see on the road. We took note of the ones that are for cars, trucks and other vehicles, and the ones that are for the people (like us!) or pedestrians. We know that the “Green Man” means we can cross the road, while the “Red Man” means we cannot. Then, we saw a photo of a familiar square object that looked like a train according to Taiga. When we looked at it closely, we remembered that it was a button we pressed to cross the street. There are traffic lights for pedestrians that remain as “Red Man” unless we press the button. We saw this button when we went to Kogai Park. At the end of the circle time, we took turns in pressing the button to signal that it was “GREEN” which means we could go ahead and prepare for morning snacks. Pressing the button felt real!
What a fun-filled Tuesday we had! We hope your day was as fun as ours!
