Friday, June 27th: Purple Mountains Majesty!
Happy Wednesday Buds families!
Today we switched gears while trekking through the mountain and made a stop to create some amazing Tanabatta creations! We each decorated a mobile with the famous star festival’s prince and princess! It was so cute to see them come to life and the teachers were all so very impressed by how well our little Buds’ fine motor control has been developing in the skill of how they illustrated the faces on them! We glued the pieces to make their bodies and then combined colorful tissue paper with glue to decorate them. Afterwards, we glued them down onto a blue circle base. How beautiful!
On the back table we discovered some cute and colorful bears, ready to explore the clay and rock mountains! We squished and combined wood and rock to create a bear den for them to take a nap in!
On top of the front table, we gathered to paint our purple mountainside with a striking complimentary orange! We got to pick from a variety of different painting tools and went straight to work! The orange color dashed across the light purple face of the mountain, creating a cascade of beautiful sunset colors!
CIRCLE TIME
For circle time, we reviewed what gesture to enact when we hear the word “mountain” by pointing our hands in an upward triangle and sitting on our bottoms to make an upward facing point with our knees. These are the mountains we can create with our bodies! After we sang our hello song, we located our name cards and then Brandon read the story “Hello, Goodbye”. It was about a friendly animal we have been learning about this week, the BEAR! The book was so much fun because the bear asked us all to speak up in a big voice to say hello to everyone! “HELLO!”
K – “Bear, Green, Mountain, Circle”
When we wrapped up and sat down for snack time, everyone raised their hands when the teachers asked “who’s towel is this?” to wipe our hands clean before heating. Everyone is getting used to our new daily routine! Way to go!
Before we knew it, it was time for us to gear up and go enjoy water play! When we got outside, we noticed there were so many bears with color matching cups! We darted for the bears and gathered them up! We had loads of fun splashing Nozomi and Brandon in the heat of the day! Please stay hydrated everyone!
Thank you so much and have a great afternoon everyone!
Lots of love,
Buds XOXO
