Puppet Theater

Forming with Claydough

Yesterday, we used claydough during our Circle Time to form different facial expressions. With the claydough formed into a long line, we used it to make a sad face, a happy face, and an angry face.

Today, a Free Play station involving claydough and various decorative items were brought out for us to explore, create, and to use for pretend play. A ended up creating patterns by choosing and aligning square shaped colored mosaics. She seemed to be counting how many she could align and from time to time, would peek through the color mosaics to see her surroundings in a different color.

L and I, with all their strength, inserted and poked popsicle sticks into the hard claydough. They looked fascinated upon seeing the dents and marks the popsicle sticks left on the claydough. L mentioned that the marks reminded him of holes.

Bonding Over Cars and Trucks

B, L, S, and Lu (our newest member) opted to bond together by playing with toy cars and trucks. S explored driving toy cars atop the “bumpy” blue beams. B was pretty fascinated with how a digger works… he even tried scooping a helicopter with it! L joined B’s play by putting a passenger leaf on top of his long digger-like train.

Water Play at the Balcony

N, M, and S had a splashing fun time out at the balcony this morning. They enjoyed scooping out water and at some point, looked confused when water would come out from the bottom of some of the pails… turns out that a few of the pails had holes in them to make water play even fun!

Circle Time

For Circle Time, we brought out the puppet theater that Marjorie made for us to present our paper puppet play. We were all happy to see our paper puppets which had our pictures on “performing” on stage.

The play all started with a dinosaur that went out for a walk in the green area and spotted a field of grass to feed itself with when suddenly, the puppet children from Buds Class came by to have some fun by chasing butterflies and dancing around. We all were delighted to see our characters inside the puppet theater box!

We were also given “blank” wooden dolls and had to imagine where its body parts were.

We wish everyone a good weekend and see you all back on Monday!

Love,

Buds Class Children
