Preparing for the Mikoshi Event!

Happy Monday everyone! Although it was raining a lot outside, our classroom was filled with smiles and sunshine! We put together the sticks and coffee filters we painted with water color and turned them into dragonflies! We had Evita come down to Petals to play with us a little bit in the morning! Nimo read us L’s book she brought for World Book Day, “Eight Silly Monkeys” by Steve Haskamp.

S: I jump on mommy’s bed!

M: I don’t jump on my bed.

K: No more monkeys jumping on the bed.

T: They bumped head.

M: I don’t dance on my bed.

L: Sad monkey, ouchie.

E: The monkeys are eating on the bed. We eat at the table.

L: I want to jump on my bed!

We started our circle time talking the Mikoshi event coming this Wednesday and about Golden Week right after this weekend!

Nimo: Today is…?

S: Rainy!

M: 27.

E: Monday!

Nimo: What happens after 30?

M: We change to 5. May.

We revisited the R’s we learned during Earth Week.

L: I read this one (Reduce)

K: Earth.

E: Earth Week.

T: No plastic.

R: Recycle.

E: Reduce.

M: Reuse, recycle.

E: Don’t waste.

M: Don’t use plastic.

K: Say, “No Thank you”!

R: Reduce water.

We went up to Flowers Class and together we practiced holding the Mikoshi! We are so ready for the big day on Wednesday!

Thank you all for another fabulous day! Have a great evening and we will see you all again tomorrow!

Love,

Petals
