Play with me!!

May 26, 2026

Welcome to the second day of Teacher Exchange. We were excited to spend another day with Brandon. During free play, we did some crafts and played “Kaboom” game with him. Thank you for spending time with us Brandon. We loved having you in our classroom.

R: Good morning! Where is Cameron?

E: Cameron is in Petals. Brandon is here

A: You know I always hug Konosuke. He is so cute.

J: Where is Laura?

P: I give this to Rigel.

R: I gave you Paw Patrol, too!

Who is this?

P: This is Zuma

R: No, this one is not Evita, this is Everest

J: Brandon can we play Kaboom?

B: Sure

K: I want to play Kaboom, too!

For circle time, we continued our learning by rereading the story, Play with Me. This time we looked more closely at why the dog in the story had a hard time finding a friend to play with. We talked about why he may be shouting and what he was trying to say. Together we realized that maybe he just wanted a friend to play with him but didn’t know how to ask.

  • Book Time

R: The dog shouts at the cat

J: Dog was angry

I: He shouts and didn’t ask nicely

Is it ok to shout?

Flowers: NO!

J: He shouts and didn’t let the squirrel eat his lunch

Is it ok if someone will not let you eat your lunch?

Flowers: No!

E: The squirrel is scared and ran off the street.

J: He smelled at the skunk then shouts

What did the squirrel do?

I: (squirrel) walked away

E: (squirrel said) sorry bulldog I don’t have time to play.

J: The bulldog didn’t let the skunk sleep

How was the skunk feeling?

R: hurt

What was the dog thinking?

J: Evita said 3 is more , 1 is small.

We then asked our question of the day “Can we ask a friend to play?” We shared what we do when we wanted a friend to play with us.

  • Question of the day

K/ R: Can you ask a friend to play?

E: Yes, I asked Peggy. I said, “Do you want to play with me Peggy?”

K: Yes, I ask everybody

P: Yes, I ask J and E. “Do you want to go park”

I: I asked P. “Do you want to play?”

Through role play, we discussed different classroom situations and in the end we reflected how it felt when our friend asked kindly to join.

  • Role Playing
  • J saw A playing with the blocks and he wanted to play with him.

J: Can I play with you?

A: Yes!

Scenario 2

J: Can I play with you?

A: No

J: Ok. *find someone else to play with.

  • T and K were drawing on the table when T noticed he needed to use a blue colored pencil for his drawing and K is still using it.

T: Can I have blue pencil?

K: Here!

Scenario 2

T: Can I have blue pencil?

K: No, I’m still using it

What should we do?

E: Get another blue pencil

R: wait

  • E and P are already sitting on the bench. Isa wanted to sit together with P.

I: Evita, can you move please?

Evita: I’m sorry. I want to sit here.

I: P, can you move please?

P: No

What should Isa do?

I: * goes to another bench.

After practicing, we went to the office and helped Shelley get all the black rocks in the garden. We had so much fun collecting rocks and saw a couple of dangomushi. Thank you for dropping by E! It was nice to see you again.

E: I have many rocks

J: Look! Dangomushi

P: Where are the shiny rocks?

R: E!!

J: Why is E not coming to school?

R: E will go bye bye. He is going to America.

Have a restful evening and see you tomorrow!

Love,

Flowers
