Welcome back everybody! We hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend!
This morning on the front table, we tried our finger strength by snapping together some felt bands and popping together some fruit puzzles! R discovered that she can make a bracelet as she twisted her favorite purple color to finish! Nearby, H was very diligently searching through the fruit and found his treasured pineapple AND put it together all by himself!
At the second table, we had a double header of painting and gluing! K and R showed off their fine motor skills by using a paint brush to apply glue and then some colorful tissue paper to the big canvas! T was patiently observing for his turn to join and was so happy to brush glue onto the canvas with a HUGE smile! He squished and pinched the tissue paper, making it dance across the paint! S showed amazing focus when holding the paint brush and following along the white line.
After we wrapped up with the canvas, we started our final end of the year secret surprise project! L and S sat side by side and very carefully painted a deep beautiful blue color on both sides of some paper plates! S and L also came over to help by coating two sides of their plates. The objective was to cover both sides with a beautiful blue color and nicely return the paint brushes. These Buds are amazing artists!
Inside the sensory bin, there were community helpers and cinnamon play doh available for us to inspire our imaginations! T and E discovered that they can stamp the people’s feet, leaving behind tracks and footsteps for others to follow! K came over and pretended to walk across the clay with the nurse figure. As he did, he made the sound “bom, bom, bom!” and stopped to look up at E with roaring laughter! Nearby, L and I were relaxing in the library with R and a few of their favorite stories. L loves books and she happily shares them with her friends so they will sit down beside her.
When we gathered for circle time, we sang our good morning song and then collected our name cards! Afterwards, Brandon asked us what we use our bathrooms for and I said “wash hands!” and L said “pee pee!”. Nice answers! Brandon shared that when we get a little older, we can poop in the toilet! Yay! Even though many of us still don’t poop on the toilet, Brandon invited us all to experience what it would be like if we finished and are trying to clean our bottoms! We pretended that some green foam was yucky poop and practiced using a tissue to clean it all up. I came up and was asked to wipe using the tissue until the green color was all gone. Just like mom and dad! N also came up and was giggling at the green color on his tissue! It was so much fun practicing wiping! Nice work!
After we finished, we read the story, “The Potty Book”. It was about how we can celebrate using the potty and how the toilet is something that isn’t scary but helps us all so much each day! We also danced and sang along to the song “Sitting On the Potty”.

Before we knew it, it was time for us to set out for the park! Today, we went and played in the sand pit of Ame Shiro Park! The weather was so great for enjoying the outdoors and we wanted to stay all day!
Thank you so much for an awesome day! See you tomorrow!
Love,
Buds
