Happy Wednesday! We’ve had a lot of fun in Flowers class today! We welcomed another guest for Career Month. We learned about being a financial broker from A’s dad! We role-played buying and selling things we liked by yelling MINE when the price was low and YOURS when the price was high! We loved learning about another career!

M, T, & M: Do you know money…
Nobody could read the last word “symbols”
We don’t know about symbols or money symbols. We learned that symbols can tell us something without writing a word. Money symbols tell us which kind of money is being used. We looked at a few different money symbols and tried to guess the name of the money and/or which country’s money it is!
1st money symbol
M: dollars?
A: Tokyo?
O: Australia?
S: Israel?
M: America?
Y: Japan!
That’s right! Japanese yen ￥
2nd money symbol
T: America!
Y: Dollar!
That’s right! US dollar $
3rd money symbol
M: Kenya?
T: Israel?
O: Asia?
A: Bali?
M: UK!
That’s right! The British pound £!
We looked at a couple of different types of money including Indian rupee and the euro which is used in many countries in Europe.
Then we played a matching game and tried to match the symbols and name the money and which country uses it. We had fun playing but it was difficult to remember all the names of the money. What else can we learn about money?
