Happy Tuesday! We are happy to welcome our new friend, E who is joining summer school from today. Thank you for joining! We are excited to play, sing songs, and do many things together!
For the morning free play, we enjoyed building things with large LEGO blocks. We put the blocks on top of each other until we built something that was even taller than us! Then, when we tried to add one more block, it crashed! The crash made us laugh so hard that we tried to build one more time. Each time it crashed, it made us laugh louder!
We continued talking about deserts and camels in our circle today. We had a quick review as to how a desert looks like. It’s dry and very hot and does not have many plants or buildings around. Looking at the camel, we noticed the hump on its back. We learned that this hump helps the camel to store fat from its food. How about the water? Since it is very hot in the desert, the camel must be thirsty. The good thing is that the camel can drink lots of water and keep it in its body.
We looked at the camel’s photo and Lily immediately said, “Camel!”. The camel’s photo was passed around. Looking at the photo, these are what our friends said,
R: Ca!
K: Camel!
R: Baba!
K: Hump!
We also looked at the camel’s legs and counted them. We stretched our legs and counted them. We have two while the camel has 4! Brandon showed us how a camel with four legs walks. Of course, we want to walk like a camel, too! We giggled as we walked like a camel.
In the morning, we painted an oval shape with brown. What could this be? We are excited to see what this artwork will be!
After our circle time, we changed into our water play outfit and enjoyed water play. Today’s turf tables had animals in one, and pots and pans in another. It was fun pouring water and splashing water with different tools! Sometimes, we placed the animal figures in the pots and let them float! We had so much fun in our water play!
