Learning about the salty ocean water!

Happy Monday friends! We started our day doing our morning jobs. We chose our job for the day, put our pouch in the basket, towels on the rack, and put our backpack in our box. After finishing up, we went up to Flowers to spend our morning. We had morning free play, circle time, and pool time with Flowers.

Morning free play.

K : Hey my brother is here! Momoka, we can play together with my brother!

Ma : Okay! I want to paint!

K : Okay!

Circle time

Evita : What did we talk about the last few weeks?

M : We are talking about oceans. (this week)

N : I said river!

M : Wetlands!

Evita : What can you find in wetlands?

T : I wasn’t there..

M : Cat tails, alligator and crocodiles, frog, bears!

T : Tucan!

N : Maybe fish?

Evita : What came after wetlands?

N : Desert!

S: Apex predator!

T : (It’s) very hot like the sun!

S: (You can see) snakes, lizards and turtles.

Evita : This week is about oceans. Salt makes water heavier. Salt comes from rocks being broken down over time, it comes down the rivers and into the ocean.

M : Wow! So cool!

Evita : What is in the ocean?

K : Ice! (talking about the Arctic Ocean we learned about last week)

We did a fun experiment where we had a tub full of water and our teachers put things in the tub. At first everything sank to the bottom, but after adding a few spoons of salt, they began to float!

We had a great time playing in the pool with our Flowers friends! When we came back to Petals class we talked about our experience in Flowers today while eating our lunch! Thank you for today, see you tomorrow.

Love,

Petals
