We started our special Tuesday morning celebrating Y and E’s third birthday! Y’s parents prepared a “Pass The Parcel” game with a prize for each of us! E’s mom made a stick with a hoop on it and we tried balancing a balloon on it! We thanked our parents for the awesome games and the wonderful prizes!
After our party, we sang and danced to some songs then started our circle time! We reviewed what we learned with I, E, and H’s moms yesterday.
E: Tsukimi! Mommy has dango!
L: I want to eat (dango)
M: I want two dango please!
H: H dango too! Yummy!
L: *Pretends to eat* Aji shinai, no taste.
We look at a book about the Chinese harvest festival and looked at some pictures of the moon and some yummy treats people in China eat for their Otsukimi. Our story for today was, “Papa, Please Get The Moon For Me” by Eric Carle. The story was in Japanese so Nimo translated it to us as he read the story.
A: Moon!
Y: Yellow.
M: So big ladder!
H: This, this, this, down!
M: Moon is getting bigger and bigger!
We finished the story, then talked about Otsukimi again. We looked at a picture of some yummy dangos then played a number game! Our teachers put a number card in a tray and we had to walk on the tactile path to get to the orange and yellow balls then take the number of balls that was shown in our tray. Once we got however many we needed, we carefully walked back to our friends!
We finished up our day playing with our Buds and Flowers friends at Step Park and had lunchtime!
Thank you all for another fabulous day! Have a wonderful evening and we will see you all again tomorrow!
Love,
Petals
