Wishing you a ghoulishly good Halloween Tuesday! It’s another spooktacular day in our little class as we continue to our Halloween-themed adventures.
We started our day rescuing spiders (practicing fine motor skills) and doing a Peekaboo Ghost craft. Everyone was surprised to see the Ghost when they blew air into the straw. When we finished cleaning up, we sang our “Good Morning” song and practiced two songs for Halloween. Then Evita reviewed the colors. For this day we had a very special reader, We had our very own L to read to us. She read, “ 10 Trick or Treaters”. Everyone was listening closely as L read, Evita asked a few questions.
Evita: What do we do on Halloween?
M: Trick or treat!
I: Trick or treat!
Evita: How many trick-or-treaters are there?
L: 10!
Evita: What did they see?
N: Spider!
As the book progressed, they counted how many trick-or-treaters were left.
M: 9!
L: 100!
L: 8!
M: 7!
Y: Oooh!
L: 6! 5!
R: 4!
Y/ M: 3
R: What’s that?
I: It’s a vampire!
M: 2! 1!
E: Sleep!
When we finished reading the book, Evita reviewed numbers 1-10 for everyone. She then divided the class into 3 groups. Each student was given a Ghost and the teacher will write the number in their Ghost. The students then need to hook the certain number of linking chains that the teacher said. Everybody knew their numbers and were eager to attach the chains to their Ghost. Some still need help in attaching the links but really tried their best. We then ate our lunch and prepared to go to the park. The sun is starting to come out and we are all excited to play outside! Everyone started running around. Nimo and Brandon pretended to be monsters as they chased students. As we walked back to the school, we noticed a lot of slugs, spiders, and rollie pollies! With satisfied tummies, it was time for a cozy nap.
As the temperature continues to drop and we embrace the chilly days of fall, we want to remind everyone to stay warm and safe. See you all tomorrow!
Love,
Petals
