Thursday, June 6th: Fun with patterns and colorful sounds!

On the front activity table today were the people puzzle connectors. I and N showed how much control they have gained by connecting several pieces together! Their favorite colors were purple and yellow! Nice work! N also counted up to six with I! Great job!
At the back activity table were color matching puzzles. I, P and M worked together to locate and put some of the pieces together. They found the blue, green and red pieces, matched them together and celebrated with a big “YAY”!
In the free play area we played with the BIG legos! N built a tall tower with the help of I, L and T! They love to build! T and L also built a train for everyone to ride on! They called it the “story train”. After helping build a tower with his friends, I sat down to read his favorite book, laughing at the silly characters!
Pretty soon, it was time for us to clean up and gather for our morning circle! We sang the good morning song and everyone was impressed by T’s participation! He sang the song very well, with a big voice! Liezel then showed us the boom whackers! They were big and colorful and they each made a different sound when we thumped them on the floor!
Liezel shared a color to each friend to try out and we all practiced what is known as the “sol-fa” scale, naming each sound as “DO, RE, MI, FA, SO, LA, TI, DO”! From that, we counted eight different sounds! I and M had so much fun thumping their boom whackers along with their friends!

Before we realized, it was already time for us to gobble up our snacks and head out to the park! Today we walked to Arisugawa park! When we arrived, we drank some water and then jumped into the sandbox to play! D and P scooped and sifted sand into the water mill, giggling as the wheel turned faster and faster! M had lots of fun playing peek a boo and gave a wonderful smile when we found her behind the sandbox megaphone!
