We were so happy the sun was shining brightly today and it wasn’t so hot! Before we went to the park with Flowers Class, we made our name plates! We chose a color to write our names with and wrote on a large piece of paper! After our friends were done with their names, we packed away the toys and had a short circle time. We sang some songs, updated our calendar, and did a few numeracy activities! Then we got ready for the park and went together with Flowers Class! At the park, we enjoyed going down the large slide and playing with the sand toys!
When we got back to school, we held hands and did some movements like bending our knees, and shaking our hips. We sat down and broke up into three small groups. One group with Laura, one with Esmi and another with Nimo. In our small groups we reviewed the numbers from 1-10 then did an activity where the teacher would say a number and would touch that number. The great thing about small groups is that we don’t have to wait too long for our turn, which means we get more turns, and for our friends that are a little shy, smaller groups make it a little easier to speak.
We spent about ten minutes in our small groups working on recognizing numbers then got back together as a class. Now that we were all warmed up, we played a little game! Our teachers would tell us a number and we would try the “Turtle Walk” we did for gym class yesterday and make our way to the number our teacher said! It was a great numeracy activity and a great workout too!
We couldn’t believe how fast the time went by! By the time we were finished playing the game it was already time for lunch! Laura prepared a book to read to us, but because we didn’t have time today we will have to wait until tomorrow for the story.
Thank you all for another fabulous day! Have a great evening and see you all again tomorrow!
Love,
Petals
