Fruits and Animal Teeth

Happy Tuesday! Rainy season is here, which gives us more time to explore things indoors😊

We requested our teachers to read the magazine about animal teeth again, and we did it today! We learned so many things about animal teeth and imagining what we could have done if we had them, made story time more interesting!

(Beaver)

              O: (Eat) tree?

              Sh: That’s hard.

Ty: Tough! How do animals cook?

(Shark)

Ma: If it falls off, it can grow however many they want.

Yu: I don’t like the shark’s mouth. It’s so scary.

O: One time, I see a shark jumping. A real shark!

Vieda: The shark’s teeth grow its new teeth every one hundred years.

Ma: Now my friend is 2 years old. Her name is Sa. Her mom is already 100 years old.

We got excited to learn about narwhal’s two teeth, where one tooth grows into a tusk. It can grow to 10 feet! We investigated the teeth of rattlesnakes, naked mole rats, and vampire bats as well.

QUESTION of the DAY (Do you need one cup of fruits?)

Ko: We can wash the cup and eat.

Sh: One cup you can use for everything. Too much fruit is not so good. It wasn’t at the bottom of the (food) pyramid.

Ai: Only one because some fruits are sweet, and some are sour.

Mi: We need a lot of fruit. It’s good for your body.

              To: It’s healthy.

Ma: If you eat a lot, you might get a stomachache.

Yu: Because some people only eat one, but I want to eat a lot.

Y: If you want to eat a lot, then you can eat a lot.

O: First, you need to eat your lunch. If you eat too much, you will get sick.

Ty: You can eat a lot of fruit.

Talking about fruits, we thought that it must be good for our body since it is included in My Plate. We checked the My Plate website, and it suggests that for 4 to 8 years old, one to two cups of fruit must be taken every day. We excitedly shared our favorite fruits and even tried to play shiritori game (thinking of a word that begins with the last letter of the previous work). It was fun to do in English but quite challenging.

For homework, please check what fruits can do to our bodies. We are looking forward to our sharing time tomorrow!
