Fish and Me!

Happy 2nd day of summer school! We are happy to have a new friend, So joined us from today. Welcome to the fun adventures that we are about to explore together!

For morning activities, our busy hands and fingers had lots of fun pouring and transferring pompoms (using grabbers) and pasta noodles into cups and containers. Sometimes, we found it challenging to pour noodles and pick up pompoms with grabbers but we enjoyed the challenge and kept on trying until we did it! On the other table, we continued working on our fish craft by painting the white circle paper and decorating the fish, too. We also enjoyed building towers and car slides with the colorful blocks. It was exciting to see how the cars that we built slid through the slides on their own! In the kitchen, we liked putting the doughnuts in plates and serving them to our friends:)

In circle time, we continued talking about fish and its body parts. Ma looked at the fish and said, “Eyes! Mouth!” as she pointed at her own eyes and mouth. When asked about the other fish’s body parts, Lo replied, “That’s tail!” and even moved her hands as if they were a fish’s tail! A remebered the action for the gills and did it so happily. For today, we talked about one more detail of the fish which is the scale. We looked at the picture of the scale and then looked at our arms. Lottie commented, “Lo no scales!”. Other Buds friends started to look at their arms and legs and said, “No!”. Interesting discovery! We learned that we have similar body parts with the fish, as well as differences. When Vieda said that we will learn about where the fish lives and what they eat, Ma said, “Fish swimming!”. We are happy that we can learn so many things about fish. We can’t wait to learn more about them tomorrow.
