Finger Puppet Show

Welcome back friends! We hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are ready for another exciting week! Today, we worked on crafts for our End of the Year party and continued playing with figures and puppet show theater! We also played with the toy cars. We packed away our toys and practiced the songs and dance for the performance.

E read his story to the class from World Book Day. It was a Chinese book about E’s favorite character, the Monkey King.

J: World Book day book.

M: I love Monkey King.

E: *pointed at the book* This is the Monkey King and two pigs.

W: I know that one!

E: Only Monkey King can ride this (cloud). He can fly so high. He can go to space.

R: I see space before.

M: I sleep and listen to this (story).

E: (The Bad Guy) is giving food to him. They Monkey King can see him.

W: Me no have that one *pointed at the frogs*

E: These are toads. *Taught us how to say it in Chinese*

R: It’s a skeleton!

W: Me no like that one.

M: I want to hide *pointed at the skeleton*

We thanked E for sharing his story with us, then we learned more about puppets. Nimo a panda and a child finger puppet. Just like how we played with the figures this morning, our puppets can be anything and do anything as long as we use our imagination!

J: Panda can be mommy!

J: Panda, daddy!

M: Panda can be a snake! Eeeek!

E: A tiger!

Nimo: What else do you think this Panda can be?

R: A teacher!

M: Panda is teacher.

Nimo: What do teachers say?

M: It’s circle time!

Nimo: What about our friend? We should give it a name.

P: Roa!

Nimo used the two finger puppets and did a fun puppet show! For the second part of our puppet show, our teachers asked us to be the puppeteers!

M Teacher: Sitting nicely please. No thank you, too silly! Dancing, gummy bear song. Play with toys! Here you can play with the Lego, let’s make a big castle! We need to use so many lego. Clean up please! Put it away!

D Teacher and P Student:

D: Dance!

P: What song?

D: Penguin song!

P: What’s next?

D: Play with the lego.

P: I don’t want to play with the lego.

D: Then… How about toy cars?

P: Yes!

D: I think it’s park time! Play at the big slide!

E Teacher and J Student:

E: Today is time for play! Listen please!

J: Yeah!

E: It’s time to play, but not in the park because it’s a little bit rainy. You want to make a big castle?

J: I can make that *pointed at the castle*

E: Good job Yeye (finger puppet name)! It’s time to clean up!

J: Clean up!

E: Now we can jump in the muddy puddles! Time to clean your shoes! Lunchtime!

J: Yay! Nom nom nom!

Our other friends wanted to have a turn too so they will get a chance to do it tomorrow!

We played at the Iki Iki Plaza park then ate our lunch!

Thank you all for another fabulous day! Have a great evening and see you all again tomorrow!

Love,

Petals
