Fairy Tales, Princess and Princes in Europe

Embracing Your Own Crown

Today we are continuing to embrace our theme of Europe! We decided to let our inner royals shine by creating our own crowns! We are taking the first step to create crowns that show who we are as individuals in the Buds family. We got to paint our crowns today. Everyone chose their favorite color and added shades of paint to create their perfect crown! We also got to create patterns with the paint. The pattern wheel was one of the most popular things to do today. Everyone enjoyed the pattern wheels and dipping them in paint and rolling them across the crowns. Faces lit up as we all saw different circle patterns and zig zag patterns come to life on our crowns!

Bon Appétit: Creating Delicious Pastries!

Europe is famous for its delicious and decadent pastries! From cakes, to croissants, to pies and cookies! We love them all, and today we got to create some delicious goodies of our own! We used our beautifully colored playdough and our pots and pans to create different pastries. We made buns, cinnamon rolls, cakes, cookies. All the creations from our friends look so delicious. All of our friends loved the exploration of Europe through the culinary arts! Yummy!

The colors of nature

We continued our theme of transportation through the use of horses. Many fairy tales incorporate horses as a mode of transportation so we included these four legged friends figures in our sensory table. The sensory table was such a big hit from yesterday we brought it back today! Every one of our Bud’s friends loved the table and participated in the sensory exercise. We touched smooth, bumpy and rough objects. We touched flowers and pine cones. We also played with our horse figures. Everytime we left to paint or create pastries, we would come back to the sensory table. We touched Europe’s forest and their flower fields today!

Circle Time: Fairytales and Royalty

Yesterday we got to learn about castles and build a big castle with our friends, so today we got to be like the royalty in the castles! We did our hello song and then we read a fairytale story about princesses going to a ball. We learned about different colors that each princess liked and we learned more about castles and clothes. We also got to each have a scarf of a different color and we learned to curtsey and bow like royalty. We walked in a circle to go to the ball, then we tiptoed to the ball, ran to the ball, danced and even hoped to the ball. We felt so elegant and regal during our circle time.

Park time

Today it did not rain! Yeah! It was a beautiful day! We got to go with our friends. We had the balls to play with today! We had a soccer ball, a basketball, baseball and bumpy balls. We kicked the balls everywhere and they rolled in so many directions! We played a mini game of soccer. We took the rope and we were a bus and then a train. We went to different parts of Japan and the world. Then it got even better! Our friends from petals joined us at the park and we got to play with more of the Ohana family. Today was truly a magical day from a fairytale.

Have a Terrific Thursday!
