Entry Point Day

Our classroom looked a little different when we walked inside today. On one of our walls, we had a picture of our face together with a short description of what our name means! We enjoyed finding ourselves on the wall and asking our teachers what our moms and dads wrote! We had a very short free play time because we had to get ready for a fun event!

We split up into three groups and each went to a different class to find out what they are learning about this term! Flowers are learning about themselves, and they are starting with their faces. At one of the tables they had the faces of the Flowers Class children and cut them into strips. Our job was to try and put the parts of the face back together again! There was also an amazing dress up corner! In Petals Class we are learning about our name. We started by introducing ourselves by singing the “Good Morning” song then showed our friends our “My Name” wall where it talked about what our name means. We also had two activities, one table was a name + face puzzle where we matched our name with our face! The other table had play dough and the first letter of our name! In Buds Class, they talked about their favorite things! They made little shirts that had their favorite things listed on them and we had an activity with the small balls to find out each other’s favorite color!

We each got a chance to experience each class and when we were done, we met back in Petals and quickly got ready to go to the park while the sun was still hiding and wasn’t too hot. It was nice and cool outside when the sun was hiding, but was blazing hot as soon as he came out. We stayed at the park for a very short time, then went back to class and burned the rest of our energy dancing to some songs. We did a fun color activity where we each practiced saying, “My name is… My favorite color is…”

L: My favorite color is, Red and Yellow.

I: Blue.

H: Yellow!
