Thursday, September 18: Doing the Math and Counting Our Favorites!
Today we compared the many things we like and counted them out together!
On top of the front table this morning, we put our fine motor dexterity to the test with a big bead threading challenge! L was so focused and put on so many beads all by herself! E came over and was inspired to try her hand at the same. She carefully placed each bead just right. T and K were observing nearby too and joined in on the challenge. What a great way to strengthen our fingers!
At the back table we sorted out and organized colorful wooden people! Lottie grabbed the baby pieces and strolled around the room observing her friends while giving them a little smile. H grabbed some tall people figures and tapped them along the table as if they were walking along. T picked up his favorite blue colored person and pretended to make them fly through the air! T picked up a pink colored person and said “momma!” with a smile! What great imaginations these Buds have!
In the free play area, the little Buds happily served up delicious pretend snacks for their friends as they arrived! R set out some broccoli and some strawberries for the teachers. Thank you! L folded a pie crust with some cheese inside to make her own unique danish. Yummy! K was very proud of a yummy feast of fish, milk and some apples for his friend Henry and R!
Once we started cleaning up, we noticed that Brandon had a secret surprise to show us for circle time! He introduced a gold medal reward for Sports Day! We are so excited to earn our medal for that special day next week! When we settled down, we placed our name cards onto the “School” area and then were invited up to share our tee shirts with favorites once more BUT with this difference, we were asked to count the similar things we like! We looked at animals, toys and foods that are our number one!

Afterwards, we munched our snacks all gone before packing away and getting ready for some super cool water play on this hot day!
