Crossing Guard

Happy Thursday everyone,
Today we had an exciting day learning about shadows and space in the morning and then we continued our theme of community helpers by exploring the role of a crossing guard.
In the morning we had lots of energy and were so curious about space. We looked at the solar system projector and then tried to do some different poses like a rocket ship and a star pose. Then we explored shadow puppets as we were all so excited by the flashlight and we made lots of animals and shapes with our hands.
W: rabbit
K: butterfly
S: spider
M: heart
S: cobra
E: dinosaur
A: Godzilla
J: t-rex
P: dango mushi (roly poly)
Question of the day?
S: Is it important to stop and look before crossing the street?
Everyone said yes!
Why?
P: there might be cars
E: and if a car hits you you might die
S: not always you’ll die. Maybe you’ll just break..
S: you’ll break your bones.
We thought about what job or topic we might be looking at today..
R: car!
M: rentacar
S: taxi
K: police car
M: seatbelt
The answer was…
Crossing guard. What is a crossing guard?
J: people who help you cross the street.
E: he help the car go. He have a green pole and a red pole. That means stop and go.
S: stop means dont go
What is a pedestrian?
M: walk
We then tried three different roles. We turned Flowers class into a street and some of us were pedestrians, some were cars and some were our helpful crossing guards. It was so fun!

Thank you so much for a great time today! Have a great evening.
