Community Helpers: Hairdressers and Barbers

Hello everyone!

We started our morning with Free play and some crafts. Some of us played with the trains and games on the table. We also played with the ATM, from yesterday and pretended to be bank tellers and doctors in our Ambulance. Also, we continued our crafts besides playing.

After that we got ready for the circle time and cleaned up but first we practiced our dance again. When we sat down, we started with our Calendar.
R: *tried to count in Hebrew, and Shlomo helped*
S: English! Japanese!
S: *counted in Spanish*
I: *counts in Chinese*

Question of the day:
R: Have you ever… I don’t know. Shlomo help!
S: Gotten…
R: Have you ever gotten your hair done?
What does it mean?
R: Cut your hair.
K: Choki, Choki *makes cutting signs with hands*
Who does your hair?
P: Mommy!
M: Me too.
K: Minato mommy.
S: Hair cutting place.
E: Hair cutting station.
R: My mommy go there.
S: Never ever been there.
Who are these people who do your Hair?
J: Community helper!
T: My mommy cut hair.
J: They don’t cut eyes, ear, the cutting the hair.
Flowers: Hairdresser!
S: Blue, red circles going around.
They use tools too. Which one do you know?
A: Scissors, cut.
R: Gloves.
J: This one *points at razer*
R: Long time ago, they cut and paint hair. Pink and black.

Story:
S: He was in the lake!
R: He was in the ocean.
Look he has a big beard:
R: He cannot eat right?
J: Hair is going to be longer.
R: Why is he red? Blood?
S: Because he was in the sun.
E: His hair is really short. His hair become long.
S: Why are the crew not smiling?
M: This, this and this are boats.
E: I do that before. *surfing* when I was two.
S: Wow, so much hair! Why doesn’t his hands have hair?
R: Duck is eating the bottle.

After the Story we became Hairdressers and Barbers ourselves. The teachers put up three stations where we could pretend to be Hairdressers. The first table had a big cardboard head, and we cut and glued hair onto the cardboard. The second table had lots of dolls on it, and we made them new hairstyles with hair ties. The third table had other Dolls, and we cut their paper hair and styled them. Everyone got a turn at each table. After this fun experience we got ready for the park since the weather was so lovely today.
