Busy Bees!

Wonderful Wednesday!

Today we used green paint to color the wood blocks for our Earth Day Banner! Just like yesterday, our teachers prepared several shades of green and we got to choose which one we liked and enjoyed painting the wood! We played with the play dough and miniature bugs in the morning then suddenly heard the Earthquake alarm for our Earthquake Drill. We quickly took cover under the tables and did a great job following our teachers instructions! After our drill we went back to Petals then cleaned up our toys.

Our calendar helpers E, Y, and K helped update the calendar.

E: Today is 15.

S: Today is cold!

L: No, it’s hot day.

S: It’s a little cold.

K: Cloudy.

Y: Today is Wednesday.

We sang our Good Morning song and the “How Are You Today” song!

E: I’m happy.

R: Yeah. (Happy?) Yeah.

T: Angry. Grrrrr!

H, M, Y, S, L, K, S, and E showed us their happy faces!

Ailsa: I’m angry too!

K: I don’t know.

Before we talked about the bees again, we looked at our seeds again.

T: I want to see!

A: Wow!

K: It’s a little bigger!

M: Flower is coming out.

Nimo: Look we have sprouts! What do you think they need to grow?

E: Water.

T: Sun!

M: Soil.

We moved the little plants into a flower pot with soil then looked at some pictures of pollen!

Nimo: What job did we learn about with Lucy yesterday?

K: Bee Shopper.

M: Bee Keeper.

E: They take care of bees.

Nimo: Do you remember how they make honey?

E: They suck flower juice then go back to their hen house.

Nimo: Right! Who remembers what the name of the bee’s house is?

M: Hive.

Nimo: What do you think the yellow dust on the flower is?

E: Pollen.

K: It’s yellow.

E: On (the bee’s) body.

We played a fun game where we put some tape on our clothes then walked on the balance beams to a “Flower (bucket)” We stuck the colored balls on our bodies then walked back to and put the pollen into the same colored bucket!

We finished our day revisiting the book, “Planting A Rainbow” by Lois Ehlert then going to Step Park.

T: (Plants are) Growing.

M: Sprouts!

S: Red, yellow!

H: I see purple flower!

Thank you all for another fabulous day! Have a great evening and we will see you again tomorrow!

Love,

Petals
